Over the weekend I rolled out a brand new Thesis based design for my friend and client Christopher Foster. The new design is for The Happy Seeker where Chris writes on how to find happiness and inner peace during troubled times.
I’ve been working with Chris now for some time in more of a coaching role to help him with SEO and overall site optimization. Chris wanted to grow his subscriber base, and we both agreed that offering a free eBook was the best way to do that. Chris has spent the past few months putting together The Wisdom of Serentity and wanted to roll out a new site design at the same time his eBook was released.
Chris wanted a simple and minimalist design that conveyed a sense of similicity, peace and calmness. Chris often speaks of the Spruce Trees around his home, so we decided to include them in his design. The final site design incorporates a new logo, a simple white, blue and green color scheme and lots of white space. The spruce branches in the header and footer are used as accents and to add a little style.
The site is mostly stock WordPress and Thesis. The only plugins used are WordPress Popular Posts for his ‘top reader content’ section and ShareThis for social bookmarking.
Chris and I are both very happy (pun intended) with the design and feel it really blends with the overall theme and message of The Happy Seeker. I’d really encourage you to head over, subscribe and get a free copy of his new eBook!
